What data do we collect?

Groupsy can be used anonymously. For anonymous users, we do not collect any data.

Account data

In order to create an account with Groupsy, we ask you to provide us with your email address, or we may collect your email address from Microsoft's Azure AD B2C authorization platform.

Optional updated account data

You are provided with the option to add to or update your Groupsy account details.

You can update or add your city, country, first name, last name, state/province, bio, or custom profile image.

Community data

You can choose to share information on Groupsy. This can include:

  • Your username
  • Your profile picture
  • A photo and text uploaded by you

Any information you disclose in a Groupsy becomes public information. Caution should be exercised when using Groupsies and avoid posting personal information.

Message data

You can choose to share information with Groupsy Messages. This can include:

  • Your username
  • Your profile picture
  • A photo and text uploaded by you

Any information you disclose will not be made public. However, you should still exercise caution, especially when posting personal information.

Where is the data stored?

The data mentioned above will be stored securely on Microsoft Azure in the USA.

What do we do with this data?

  • The account data helps us improve the user experience of Groupsy.
  • Community data is displayed on Groupsy pages.

We are not a subsidiary of a larger corporation that can access your information.

Who do you share this data with?

We do not share information with third parties beyond those required to serve you and we never share any of this data unless required to by law or subpoena.

We use the following third-party providers to provide the following processes:

We use Microsoft Azure as a data storage provider and we use it to securely store the data outlined above.

We use Google Cloud to help us improve the user experience of Groupsy.

What do you do with the photos that I take?

We use the photos that you take for various tasks in the app (such as your profile photo, or remembering or sharing information, etc.). These are sent to and stored securely on our servers.

Child safety

Upon setting up an account, you will be asked to confirm your agreement to the terms of service and the privacy policy, which means you are at least 16 years of age. By using the app, you confirm that you meet this requirement. If you are under the age of 18, you confirm that you have received permission from your parent or guardian before using this app or sending us personal information.

User data protection

Application Fitness treats user data privacy as a primary concern. For any personal data you choose to share with us over the internet, transmission is at your own risk. Once we have received your data transmission, we follow industry standards to prevent unauthorized access.

  • All user data is secured in transit using TLS.
  • Application Fitness uses Microsoft Azure as our cloud computing provider. This includes, but is not limited to, application servers, databases, and persistent storage. User data is encrypted in transit (over the network) and at rest (nonvolatile storage), giving end-to-end encryption in Azure Cosmos DB.
  • Application Fitness reviews modifications to the application code, and to the Azure infrastructure. This involves automated and manual efforts.
  • Application Fitness monitors the Azure infrastructure to detect any potential attempts of unauthorized access.

How do I delete my data?

You can delete comments, posts, groupsies, and messages via the app.

If you'd like us to delete all information tied to your account, you can request us to do so by emailing us at support@applicationfitness.com.

EU Citizen rights under GDPR

Application Fitness is a data controller that is committed to complying with GDPR.

You have the right under certain circumstances:

  • To be provided with a copy of your personal data held by us.
  • To request the deletion of your personal data held by us.
  • To request that we restrict the processing of your personal data.
  • To object to the further processing of your personal data, including the right to object to marketing.
  • To request that your provided personal data be moved to a third party.

Changes to the privacy policy

We reserve the right to modify this privacy policy at any time. Changes and clarifications will take effect immediately upon their posting on the website.
